Force base, “But, as I was reminded on a trip to Racine, Wisconsin,
earlier this week, we're not headed there fast enough for a lot of
Americans. We're not headed there fast enough for me, either.
The recession dug us a hole of about 8 million jobs deep. And
we continue to fight headwinds from volatile global markets. So we
still have a great deal of work to do to repair the economy and get
the American people back to work.”

announced Friday that total payroll employment was down 125,000 in June, reflecting
the loss of 225,000 temporary census workers. The unemployment rate dipped to 9.5%
as the private sector added 83,000 jobs.

July 01, 2010-- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi garnered criticism
Monday when she made statements indicating the best way to create new jobs is to
hand out more unemployment checks.
"This is one of the biggest stimuluses to our economy.. economists will tell you
this money is spent quickly it injects demand into the economy and is job
creating.. it creates jobs faster than almost any other inititative that you can
name," she said during a news conference Thursday.

Overhaul of US Immigration Laws

said fences and border patrols alone would not solve the problem
and said the U.S. should create a pathway for the estimated 11
million people in the U.S. illegally to earn their
citizenship... Mr. Obama Thursday called the Arizona law
"ill-conceived" and said it had the potential to violate the rights
of lawful citizens by allowing law enforcement to stop people based
on what they look like.
Said
President Obama,"Contrary to some of the reports that you see,
crime along the border is down. And statistics collected by Customs
and Border Protection reflect a significant reduction in the number
of people trying to cross the border illegally.
So
the bottom line is this: The southern border is more secure today
than at any time in the past 20 years."

A shootout near the U.S.-Mexico border between rival groups with
ties to organized crime left 21 people dead Thursday , Mexican
police officials said.
Two
groups authorities believe were involved in drug and human
trafficking clashed in a deserted area about 12 miles south of the
border, Sonora State Police spokesman Jose Larrinaga Talamantes
told CNN.
